Last week Hajar, Atikah and I went to vacation in Perak for 4 days and 3 nights. We spent the night at Majad's house in Ayer Tawar, Perak. Thank you Majad and family for welcoming us when we were in Perak.

Actually this is not really a holiday for us because we were spent a lot time to complete our business proposal for the seminar class assignment.

But on Saturday, we went to Teluk Batik to release some tension due to our assignment. Our journey take approximately 15 minutes from Majad's house. Teluk Batik is one of the most famous beaches in the state of Perak. This beach also famous among the locals. Teluk Batik also beautiful place for family picnic and some fun in the sun. The beach is situated just opposite Pangkoor Island. Pangkoor Island is another famous popular island in Perak.

Many parents brings their kids running on the beach at the weekend. There many facilities are available at Teluk Batik for rent for example chairs and boats. We also took the opportunity to take a boat ride for the cost RM 5 per person to visit nearby island which is Pangkoor Island. After that, we took a banana boat also priced at RM 5 per person.

Ready for action on banana boat ride.
After bathing and took some picture as memories at Teluk Batik,we went to the town of Lumut and we stopped at a shop Haji Hamid. Here have a variety of seafood at a reasonable price and can be taken to home as a gift to the family.

On Sunday,we all go back to UUM that takes about 4 hours. This holiday was very tired because of holiday with an assignment but it is our memories before graduating from UUM. Thanks to Majad and family treated us so well. Overall, Perak was interesting place to visit again.

Kedah Museum Paddy

Museum Paddy

Kedah is also known as " Negeri Jelapang Padi". Museum Paddy is the best place to gather information about rice which is located at Lot 798, Jalan Gunung Keriang, Mukim Gunung Keriang, 06570 Alor Setar, Kedah Darul Aman. These museum displays the history of paddy cultivation in the state of Kedah.

Museum Paddy was officially opened by DYMM Tuanku Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah, the Sultan of Kedah on 12th October 2004. This is the first paddy museum in Malaysia.

Museum Paddy not far from my house is only about 3km and takes 10 minutes to get there. For the entry fee is RM5 for adult and RM2 for children per person. These museum show us the cultivation process and displays all kinds of tools and equipment used in rice cultivation over the years.

Last semester my friends and I go there. While entered into museum, we go to stairs to the top floor of museum. From there we can see the panoramic view of traditional village and lush paddy field. It is the most beautiful mural that I had seen which has been painted on the wall . Apparently, the mural was painted by a team of 60 North Korean artists and I want to say they did an excellent job in creating it.

Happy holiday and smile always :-)

Caklempong

Caklempong?? What’s that??Here, I want to share a little info about the caklempong.

Caklempong is a traditional music. It was brought into Negeri Sembilan, Malay Peninsula by the Minangkabau people of West Sumatra in 14th century. Minangkabau society call the caklempong as telempong. Talempong can be used to play a wide variety of music, including both traditional or modern. Caklempong has three main sets which is set Caklempong Gereteh, Tingkah and Saua.

Gereteh

Actually, I also don't know what is caklempong. My first time heard about caklempong is about 2 years ago when I got caklempong as my cocuriculum. When I heard that I was very shocked because I don't know how to play and I don't have talent to play musical instrument but I try to do it. I spent for four semester to play caklempong. This is one of the song that I learned in caklempong class, actually this video when I was semester four. Enjoy.. :-)

Welcome to the world

My first nephew was born on 25th February this year in the morning at 4.45am, named as Muhammad Aqil Harraz weighting 2.88 kg at Sultanah Bahiyah safely.

Picture of Aqil.. :-)

I felt excited when I heard that my sister already given birth on that morning.. But, it was sad because  in that day I was in UUM.. huhuhu

The second day, baby Aqil had a yellow fever or called as jaundice. Aqil need go to hospital every day for check-up, very pity to him  because when nurse want to prick his feet to check level of his yellow fever he cried loudly. :-(

There is some information related to yellow fever. Yellow fever is a common condition in newborns, jaundice refers to the yellow colour of the skin and whites of the eyes caused by excess bilirubin in the blood. Bilirubin is produced by the normal breakdown of red blood cells.

Normally, bilirubin passes through the liver and is excreted as bile through the intestines. Jaundice occurs when bilirubin builds up faster than a newborn's liver can break it down and pass it from the body. Reasons for this include:
  • Newborns make more bilirubin than adults do since they have more turnover of red blood cells.
  • A newborn baby's still-developing liver may not yet be able to remove adequate bilirubin from the blood.
  • Too large an amount of bilirubin is reabsorbed from the intestines before the baby gets rid of it in the stool.
